This Is John Loos...
John Loos is the writer, producer and star of Sheryl Still Single.
He is an LGBTQ writer, actor and comedian from Chicago who has been performing improv for nearly 15 years. He has trained and performed improv and sketch comedy at the iO West Hollywood, iO Chicago, The Second City and The Annoyance Theatre. He currently teaches sketch comedy writing at Second City and is a corporate facilitator for Second City, bringing the tenants of improvisation to the business world, including Fortune 500 companies.
Loos specializes in tragic older lady characters like Sheryl, even though he's built like a defensive end. He's written several female-centric plays, including A Woman's Path in which he played a 68-year-old introverted Christmas doll maker named Sheila Cankleton, and Lady Balls, in which he played a rageful women's college basketball coach Deb Champion based loosely off the legendary Pat Summit.
In 2012, Loos was one of 25 finalists out of more than 1,200 submissions for the FOX Comedy Script Contest at the New York Television Festival. His pilot "Mr. Mayor" is ready to be produced at a moment's notice.
Loos has also produced two other web series: The Log Jam, a series about gay Republicans, and Sunday Funday, a series about the horrible, drunk denizens of the competitive gay brunch world.
